Thank you for your interest in the Office of Military Legal Assistance. The program pairs members of the military community with pro bono attorneys to represent them in a variety of legal issues. The minimum requirement for attorneys to participate in the program is a 10 hour annual commitment. The program provides free legal representation for the following classifications of service members: qualified active duty, reserve, and National Guard. The program will offer a pro bono private attorney to service members for cases involving Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA), The Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act (USERRA), consumer/fraud, property/landlord, creditor/debtor, and predatory lending.
For veterans, the OMLA hosts free veteran ask-a-lawyer events to draft wills, powers of attorney instruments, and offer general legal advice. pro Bono attorneys can volunteer for these events held throughout the year. T
